A new Twinning project in NAAU has been launched 

December 14, 2011 marked a launch of a new Twinning project «Further development of the National Accreditation Agency of Ukraine (NAAU) capacities according to European practice". The kick off conference took place in a large conference hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with invitees from the public and business communities that represent interests in the area of accreditation.

The project aims at further development of quality infrastructure in Ukraine in order to increase competitiveness of Ukrainian goods on the international markets and increase the openness of the EU markets.

NAAU have partnered in this project with the British Standards Institute (BSI), the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), the National Physical Laboratory (NPL - United Kingdom) and the Federal Institute for Material Research and Testing in Germany (BAM).

Opening remarks on the relevance and importance of the accreditation instrument in ensuring confidence in the activities of conformity assessment and strengthening the competitiveness of the economy as a whole were given by: NAAU Chairman Vladimir Chekalin, Head of EU Delegation in Ukraine, Mr Jose Manuel Pinto Teixeira, British Ambassador to Ukraine, Mr. Leigh Turner, Ambassador of Germany to Ukraine Ambassador Dr. Hans-Jurgen Heimsoeth, First Deputy Head of the National Agency of Ukraine for the Civil Service Mr. Igor Popov and project leader from the British Standards Institute, Mr. Vladimir Yakubov.

In the near future NAAU will create on its web site a separate web page devoted to this project, which will inform the stakeholders of the status of the project and the upcoming events within the project framework.
